For this project, I created a video covering a two-day LAN tournament in New York City, where a group of gamers, some of whom had known each other for over 20 years, came together from across the world to meet and play in person. The footage included travel, arrivals, socialising, venue setup, gameplay highlights, funny moments, and a few unexpected incidents, plus 18 hours of streamed gameplay.
The first step was getting everything organised in Adobe Premiere Pro. I used the freeform view feature to drag and drop clips into buckets once I’d cut them up. This let me split them into sections like “day 1 morning”, “day 1 games”, “day 2 evening”, etc. Once everything was sorted, I created separate timelines for each section, which made it easier to focus on editing the story within manageable chunks.

From there I went through all the gameplay and camera footage, cutting it down to the moments that mattered. I trimmed clips for timing, synced reactions to gameplay, and made sure key moments linked together smoothly. I also adjusted audio levels across multiple tracks, layered music to separate different sections, and cut songs to fit the pacing of the edit.
The finished video captures the weekend from start to finish, showing the highlights of the tournament. It went down well with the players who have a keepsake for the event and all commented positively on the video, so I was really pleased with the work that went into it.
