This project was created for OLAY as part of a Mother’s Day campaign promoting their Regenerist cream. The work covered both static and animated assets, with the initial focus on exploring a range of visual directions before settling on a final concept.
I began by designing five different static layouts, each built around colours associated with Mother’s Day such as reds, pinks and oranges. While the overall structure of the ads was consistent, each concept explored a slightly different visual idea.
One version featured a ribbon element, another used a large heart-shaped shadow, and another introduced heart shapes scattered on the floor like petals. The remaining options explored background patterns, with one incorporating a border to help frame the product. Across all of the designs, the bottle was placed on a reflective surface, a common OLAY visual, and the copy was adjusted slightly in each version to test different arrangements. These assets were created for use on Boots’ channels as well as OLAY ’s own.

Once the heart-petal concept was selected, I refined that design further by creating several variations. This included experimenting with different background colours and lighting treatments until a final look was agreed. The hearts were developed so that some sat naturally on the floor while others could fall from above in the animated version.
During this stage, we also updated the colour treatment of key informational elements, such as the price promotion and the Mother’s Day date, switching them to a gold background to better align with other campaign assets.

With the final design signed off, I moved into animation. The video was created in After Effects, bringing subtle movement to the falling hearts and product, while keeping the overall feel clean and premium. The content was also adjusted to fit within the safezones for Meta and TikTok. Final deliveries were produced in both 4×5 and 9×16 formats for social placement.
Overall, I was really pleased with how this one turned out. Getting to design it from start to finish was a challenge but I was proud to have produced so many designs that I thought looked really nice and to be able to give the client so many options before getting it down to one.
